Aiming for Dream Life

Some of the days are just not so good. Yesterday was one of those days. Problem after a trouble and overall stress was just too much for me. Yes, I admit. I lost my faith in progress and getting forward in life. But then my son reminded me, that everything could be so much worse. And that’s something that we need to be reminded about every now and then.

I have noticed that practically everybody thinks that their problems are the worst in the world. That they are not wealthy, they are fat or thin, that nobody cares for them as themselves, that everything goes against them. That they have hit the rock bottom. And still. And still there is people who don’t have even that. That have lost their home in natural disaster or war. That haven’t eaten for days. That have lost their ability to move.

It’s not that easy to see the value of things you have until you loose them. It’s so human to see the world from our own perspective and to be devastated even after a minor loss. We tend to want more and more, even when it’s not what we actually would like to have in our dream life. For example my dream life doesn’t include sport cars or private jets, mansions or space trips. My dream life looks more of a stress free life with family and friends, sunshine and swimming in a warm water. Something that is not so far away and that I can get with a smaller amount of money. I’m learning to appreciate the moments of happiness and to be graceful for what I have.

Because I have so much.

With grace

  1. Exactly what I have been realizing lately, as well. Happiness is a decision to appreciate the little things we have right now.
