Finally it’s warm! Finally we are having a summer in here. And like I thought before, we kind of skipped over spring and landed straight into summer.
It means that it’s time to set our house into summer mode. Open the windows, get fans working, get water into the pool and start having less clothes on. Now we have the season that keeps us going through cold darkness of winter. All the birds are taking care of their babies, and all the flowering plants are so bright and colorful.

Everything is growing so fast, that it’s hard to keep up with it. First tractors were already in the fields cutting grass for cattle. It means that uncut lawns need scythe 😀 Also the smell of lilacs is very strong, especially in night time, attracting pollinators. That reminds me: have you ever tried lilac sugar in your dessert? It’s easy to make it: get some flowers (rinsed, if neede, but not wet) and sugar in layers in a jar. Let them dry in there and voilà! You have a special lilac flavoured sugar. You can sift it, to get the dry flowers off, but those are also edible, so it’s not obligatory.
I’m already so excited about the opportunity of getting into the pool after working out in the garden. It’s luxury brought into every day life. I will come to that tomorrow.
Excited
Joana
