Are you one of those people, who avoid attention? Shy and quiet, and missing conversations because of so loud inner voices? You’re not the only one. I’ve been working on it for decades, and finally seen major improvement.
You see, I had speech disorder. I was able to pronounce k and g only after 8 years old, and most strangers had difficulties understanding my words in my early years. It combined with an introvert character created a quiet person with lots of uncertainties.
At school I noticed that learning languages was easy and fun, and I enjoyed learning English. Person, who spoke only to the people she knew with a small voice, wanted to communicate! At that time schooling didn’t encourage to speak, only to give public speaches with oh so much of pressure and anxiety.
In university it all began to get clearer: I wasn’t actually so shy and quiet, it was the role the people around me had put me in, and I was acting accordingly. When I was among the people who didn’t know my story, they didn’t know how I used to be. It gave me courage to open up and speak up. Nowadays, people from my youth could barely recognize the person I am today.

What my point is that we tend to settle in with the roles and standards created by other people. In our dreams we can be what ever we want to be, and we can recreate our roles. It takes time and most objection comes from our own mind, but it’s okay. We can take baby steps and start acting in a different way. More of our own way.
With love to progress
