Getting started

Yesterday I had a pleasure to meet a 95 year old lady, who had been working in the local dairy 70 years ago. It gave me such a huge insight about life in and after the second world war in Finland. People become so creative and persistent when there’s lack of everything. And on the other hand, people don’t give up easily. Main difference I noticed between those years and modern day is the feeling of connection. Loneliness and isolation are modern day plague, that takes toll on people’s mental health, and all the items and products we are buying can’t help with it. We can dwell into shopping and ignore the emptiness inside of us, and still in the evening, before going to sleep, we might be so unhappy.

This may sound controversy, being a blogger about goods and services for home, kind of selling things, and telling people to not buy happiness, but that’s how I feel. I know that there are certain things that are needed to meet basic needs, there are things and products that make life easier, and there are items and services, that help us enjoy our life. These are the products that I want to promote. I’ve been told so many times that “a poor person doesn’t have money to buy two products: the cheap one and the working one”. So many times we end up getting the cheap product only to notice, that it got broken as soon as guaranteed time is over. I feel like being a rebellion on consumption, cutting down waste and time loss.

I’m still working on with the main website, adjusting links, photos, texts etc. as quickly as I can aside of my daily work. The nature of the site is still evolving. There are so many ideas, that i need to prune, and i need to cut away some of them, even the dear ones. Slowly, but steadily I’m getting a page ready, one page after another. This will be awesome, just patience!
